In 2022, I had the unique opportunity to represent Pokhara Engineering College at the Orbit Engineering Expo, a prestigious national-level engineering exhibition. From that moment onward, as the College Representative (CR), I took it upon myself to ensure the success of Orbit Engineering Expo through extensive publicity efforts and by encouraging as many project registrations as possible.
Being based in Pokhara, it was challenging for me to attend various orientation programs held within the Kathmandu Valley. However, I made the best use of my social media platforms to spread the word about the Orbit Engineering Expo, reaching a broader audience and ensuring students in Pokhara were informed about the event. With a strong commitment to ensuring the participation of my college, I successfully organized an orientation program at Pokhara Engineering College on the 9th of Mangsir. I personally went from class to class, encouraging students to participate, and through this effort, I managed to register six unique projects from Pokhara Engineering College for the Expo.
Despite my geographical distance, I made it a priority to attend every online orientation session for WRC and remained an active participant in all online meetings leading up to the event. On the 22nd of Mangsir, I traveled to Kathmandu for the grand finale of the Orbit Engineering Expo. I was entrusted with the responsibility of project management during the event, a duty I fulfilled with full dedication and enthusiasm.
As the Expo concluded, I took a moment to reflect on the experiences of the day. The exhibition featured groundbreaking projects, the latest trends in engineering, and a vibrant atmosphere of creativity. It was exhilarating to see passionate individuals showcasing their ideas, pushing the boundaries of engineering. The event left me motivated, excited about the future, and eager to contribute even more to the world of engineering.
However, while the event was indeed grand, there were a few challenges that need to be addressed for future editions. Some areas for improvement include limited networking opportunities, technical difficulties, a lack of focus in certain segments, improper crowd management, and the high cost of participation. I believe that these challenges will be overcome in the upcoming Orbit Engineering Expo 2024, as we continue to learn and grow from each experience.
Lastly, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Sagarmatha Engineering College for trusting us and providing a platform where students like me can learn, grow, and showcase our talents through such a remarkable event. As I look forward to Orbit 2024, I am excited about the improvements and innovations we will bring to the table, ensuring it becomes an even bigger success.
