WHAT IS ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING?
Electrical Engineering is concerned with the design, research, development, planning,
manufacturing and management of electrical systems and devices which are required to facilitate
the needs of modern, developed societies. Electrical engineers design, develop and supervise the
manufacturing of electrical systems and devices. Particularly, they focus on the generation,
transmission and distribution of electrical power, their control and protection system. Electrical
engineers are also concerned with the utilization of electrical power in various areas
such as industrial application, communication systems, information technology systems and
building electrification, among others.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STUDY ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING?
Most students today see their future in civil engineering and architecture. Some choose such limited
subjects. Students who study these subjects get the opportunity to work in the field of infrastructure
development. After the development of infrastructure, the demand for civil engineers is decreasing.
Electrical engineers also get job opportunities in infrastructure development. The siblings today do
not understand the growing importance of electrical engineering.
Think about the opportunities that can be achieved in 5 years. So, students need to understand what
they will choose for the future, not just the present situation. How many engineers are needed for
the energy year announced by Nepal?
We have to choose the subject by paying attention to that. The present age is of energy, biomedical
equipment, industry, technology. These are the priorities of the world, ignoring everything, there is
a good scope of electrical engineering to work in every field.
TO STUDY ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
The study of Electrical Engineering subject started from IOE is limited. The program has been
extended to Tribhuvan University and private colleges. Where there are only 48 seats. This subject
is also taught in other universities of Nepal with limited seats. There are about 300 seats available
in Nepal for Electrical Engineering subjects. Students should also choose the right college for their
studies. Students need to learn not only theoretical knowledge but also practical knowledge. For
that, only a few colleges are available in Nepal. The most organized and perfect lab after Pulchowk
College, Thapathali engineering college, Kathmandu Engineering College, Advanced College and
National College.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the department of electrical engineering is to promote technical excellence in
Electrical
Engineering by offering programs to produce engineers with dynamic, well-rounded personalities,
adaptable to ever-increasing demands of emerging technologies involving analytical and practical
skills. We are commitment to research and development. We provide the knowledge and principles
on which electrical engineering is founded in order to produce engineering graduates who are
technically competent, creative, and articulate.
